Thistledown Ranch raises medium sized, classic, kind Scottish Highland Cattle. We have two enviromentally sound, ethically responsible, high plains Colorado ranches. Our ranch started in 1970. We are one of the oldest breeders of Highland Cattle in the United States. Our cattle did well in the show ring for many years and now we pride our selves on being a range only operation. We run between 20 and 30 registered cows on two very different ranges. One ranch is in Elbert County Colorado at 7000 ft in rolling pine covered hills south of Elizabeth.
The other is in Las Animas County, Colorado at 5000ft. in pinon juniper cliff country west of Delhi.
